Recycling our bio-waste at the University

Like selective sorting, the recovery of bio-waste is a simple but very important act. This proposal aims to put in place a means of recovering bio-waste, i.e. students' food scraps.
Several initiatives have already been undertaken by French universities:
- The University of Dauphine has set up a partnership with the association Love your Waste since 2019 and has delegated the management of bio-waste to it through this.
- In 2016, the University of Nanterre installed composting areas consisting of 6 boxes in order to process the campus' bio-waste on site.
- The University of Gustave Eiffel hired a private company.
- The Universities of Rennes 2, Nantes and Troyes have also committed to this approach as part of their waste management plans.

La proposition sera prochainement mise en oeuvre de manière expérimentale à l'École Internationale d'Études Politiques de l'UPEC, située à Fontainebleau. En effet, le SMITCOM propose l'installation gratuite de bacs de compostage sur le futur campus de Fontainebleau. Il reste à déterminer les quantités nécessaires ainsi que la méthode de gestion du compostage sur le campus.
