Description (English)

Like selective sorting, the recovery of bio-waste is a simple but very important act. This proposal aims to put in place a means of recovering bio-waste, i.e. students' food scraps.

Several initiatives have already been undertaken by French universities:

    • The University of Dauphine has set up a partnership with the association Love your Waste since 2019 and has delegated the management of bio-waste to it through this.
    • In 2016, the University of Nanterre installed composting areas consisting of 6 boxes in order to process the campus' bio-waste on site.
    • The University of Gustave Eiffel hired a private company.
    • The Universities of Rennes 2, Nantes and Troyes have also committed to this approach as part of their waste management plans.
